Intercounty Paving was founded in 1997 by Carl & John Lizza, third generation members of the Lizza Family whose companies have been building roads throughout the tri state area for over 60 years.   Based in Hackettstown, New Jersey, Intercounty Paving started out as a small paving company serving commercial builders and local townships in North Western New Jersey.

Over the last twelve years Intercounty Paving has grown from a small paving company to a large full service construction company.  While paving is still a large part of Intercounty's business, it is by no means our only business.

Early on Intercounty Paving Associates realized the importance of having a milling division.  Intercounty Paving purchased it's first machine in 1998.   Now Intercounty Paving Associates boasts one of the largest milling operations in the tri state area with ten milling machines and crews.  Intercounty Paving Associates is capable of any type of project.

Intercounty Paving is one of the very few companies in the New York, New Jersey area to have a Road Reclamation division.  Realizing the financial constraints put on local municipalities and having a viable alternative, Intercounty Paving started marketing the full depth reclamation process.  Through our many seminars hosted by experts from all over the country and around the world, we were able to show local engineers the savings others were getting through this process.  Today, Intercounty paving provides all types of Full Depth Reclamation to many public and private projects.

Intercounty Paving also provides the personnel and expertise to do most forms of concrete work, drainage work, excavation work, and virtually any other forms of road construction.  This versatility allows us to stay competitive.

Another way Intercounty Paving stays competitive is through our affiliated trucking company Willow Grove Trucking, LLC.  With 40 tri-axles in the Willow Grove fleet, Intercounty Paving has access to one of the largest trucking companies (for asphalt & stone trucking) in North Jersey.

In 2003 Intercounty Paving purchased New Hope Pipe Liners.  Like our road reclamation division, we understand that trench-less pipe lining is the wave of the future and we are now in a position to be a part of this market.  New Hope represents one more segment of an already diverse group of construction applications.

Intercounty Paving has continued to grow.  While our growth has been impressive, it has not been our goal, but rather a by product.  Intercounty Paving's goal has been to provide quality service to our customers at competitive prices, and to create an atmosphere in which Intercounty Paving and it's customers can both be successful.  Without this philosophy, we would not be in the position we are in. 

Today we employ over 300 people annually.  With our original office in Hackettstown, as well as our Hicksville Long Island office, we are currently constructing our largest projects to date.  Our customers include the New York State DOT, New Jersey DOT, PENN DOT, Port Authority of NY/NJ, Federal Highway Administration, and many more local government agencies as well as the commercial customers we started out with.  Still led by Managing Member Carl Lizza and John Lizza, the ownership has grown to include Keith Lizza and John Perrucci, JR.
